This is my first yelp review, and this place deserves it because they are like magic! I have a 2006 vw jetta and the power steering light came on. I called Pacific German one night as they were closing to see if I could bring my car in early the next morning, and with no hesitation the owner said that wouldn't be a problem. After taking time out of their already full schedule to look at my car they told me that there was a hole in the catalytic converter, and the exhaust was hitting the steering rack causing a potential fire hazard. Also, my car needed a new brake mechanical booster vacuum because it leaked oil. After hearing all of this I was really worried about the price and the amount of time this would take considering he had earlier told me they didn't have any available appointments for two weeks. However, the owner was extremely accommodating and told me that because it was such a serious problem he would work my car into their schedule. My car was done after just a day and a half and is driving better than ever! They also gave me a really good deal on both the parts and the labor! This is by far the best shop I have taken my car to here in orange county and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have work done on their vw or audi! Thank you Pacific German!

1 check-in Shawn knows his stuff and is a straight-forward, honest guy, and that's what you want in someone working on your vehicle aside from just knowledge and skill. He'll be doing some work on our 2007 Passat and I wouldn't trust anyone else. FYI - We found the shop on VWVortex.

Pacific German is a team of great mechanics and they proved themselves to be quite clever and crafty as well. They demonstrated dedication to customer satisfaction by going ABOVE what I consider good customer service. I had a bit of a tricky situation... I brought in an old car (1996 jetta) with a lot of miles, which was having oil pressure issues, and I needed help to fix the car, in order to get back home safely to Portland, Oregon. Shawn went above and beyond to help me fix my car (given my financial constraints) by hooking me up with a solid "car band-aid". I was very impressed with the overall experience. If I was a local VW owner, no doubt I would feel fortunate to have such a strong German mechanic in my neighborhood, who cares so greatly that his customers are satisfied with their business experience.

Long time Yelp user but first time writing a review because felt compelled to do so Have been getting my car serviced and cosmetic mods done here numerous times over ~4 years of owing a B8 Got bi-xenon conversion upgraded half a year ago by Tyler, who did an awesome job. However, i wanted 6k output and went the "unrecommended" route by supplying with much cheaper bulbs from EBAY vs oem.. one of which burned out four months later. I brought my car in today (newly expanded facility!), and Shawn switched out both bulbs, completely complementary under his warranty!!! He could have charged for the labor since I did not use OEM parts, and I would have understood and obliged willingly. However, his nice gesture for customers, both new and return, compelled me to write my first review in a very long while on Yelp. In conclusion, the promising team at Pacific German will take care of you and your beloved Audi/VW. PS dear Yelp, please update the address for "Ger Direction" on Android because it took me and from what i heard others too to the old location. Shawn apologized although it's Yelp's fault and said he had been asking Yelp to change it for a long time. Comment from Shawn S. of Pacific German Business Owner 9/18/2014Thanks for taking the time to write such a great review! We are very glad that you have been happy with your experiences with us. And sorry about the uncontrollable delay of getting the map updated through this Yelp site. It looks like it might be resolved, and hopefully nobody else will be running into the problems you encountered. Read more

2002 Audi TT Roadster 225hp I so appreciate them actually SHOWING me and walking me through the issues they found. Great new location too! Audi dealer had performed a PAID diagnosis and had listed several things of which I only repaired the most urgent ones. You don't get to talk to the dealer's 'super-star' mechanic either. On the list remained control arm bushings. Went to see Shawn for that and he test drove it and took a close look on his lift. He and Tyler found a boost and oil leak, non-functioning engine fan, worn shocks, etc. and since they showed them to me right then and there they obviously aren't making things up. They are painfully honest. Dealer should have found these and mentioned timing belt as well. Anyways, these guys have earned my business and will keep it. Comment from Shawn S. of Pacific German Business Owner 8/28/2014Thanks so much for the kind review! It means a lot to us that you took time to review our business and we are glad you were completely satisfied with your experience. We look forward to meeting all your Audi's needs Read more

1 photo 3 check-ins I am always skeptical when I go to a new shop and always try to withhold judgment until I deal with them a few times...that being said, these guys are awesome over here! It is the first audi I've ever owned and I went to the dealer for every service because I have had a few shady experiences with independent shops in the past and did not want to risk it with such an expensive car. I stumbled upon pacific German in the audi forums and could not find any bad press about them and decided to give them a try. So glad I did! The customer service is outstanding. The owner is always in the shop, is an audi enthusiast and his knowledge of all audi and Vw cars is impressive. His prices are more than fair especially considering the great service and follow through on each job (most of the time hundreds cheaper than dealer and he has the same diagnostic equipment as the dealer). They have earned my business from this point forward and I'm confident they will keep my audi running great. Thank you guys!! Comment from Shawn S. of Pacific German Business Owner 8/28/2014Thanks for the stellar review, we really appreciate it. We are glad that you and your Audi are happy! Read more

I have been to Pacific German twice now, once for service, and another for a performance upgrade on my MKV GTI. I found Shawn & his team through a recommendation on the VW Vortex and I am sure glad that I did. They are professional, knowledgable, friendly and accommodating. I have been made to feel like an important client even though I am a new one. Shawn's pricing on service is very fair and comprehensive for what you are paying. I have been wanting to do some performance upgrades on my GTI and this is definitely the shop to go to. I just recently had a Bilstein suspension installed and it was done perfectly (and quickly! I waited at the shop while they worked on my car.) As long as I own a German car I will be bringing it to Shawn and his team at Pacific German, without question. Comment from Shawn S. of Pacific German Business Owner 8/28/2014Thank you so much for the awesome review! It means a lot to us that you were completely satisfied with both your experiences at our shop. Read more

I was having trouble with a mechanic who was trying to charge me 2000 for a 700 dollar job.. Thanks to Shawn I found out what was really going on with my car and he solved the problem the right way. Shawn has been very helpful and kind to me and I am going to keep going over there even though I live in santa monica. Finally feels like I have found a trustworthy mechanic, I didn't think that was possible.. The mechanics he has working in the shop are his two sons they are also very helpful and kinda cute too! Comment from Shawn S. of Pacific German Business Owner 8/30/2014We are glad that we were able to solve your issues fast, efficiently and affordable. Thanks for taking the time to give us the great review. We appreciate it! Read more

This shop hands down is the best shop in Socal. Shawn the owner is an awesome guy. Straight to the point and doesn't sugar coat anything. And when it comes to something you drive everyday or even have family in, repairs shouldn't be sugar coated at all. And let me tell you they know exactly what they are talking about and have taught me so many things along the way. My dad had some major work done to his 06 Jetta which included needing a new motor but we had tons of work done prior to that even when my dad had his first Jetta. I also had work done by them when I had my B5 A4 and they even took the time to stay late to finish my vehicle. They also worked on my sisters B5 A4 and my MKIV GLI. We have always relied on Pacific German to fix the issues with our cars. The shop is always clean and they seem to be busy year round. Let's not forget all the awesome cars their whole family drives. It's funny how they use my dads Jetta as an example on how reliable the DSG transmission is on Volkswagen's and Audi's. Almost at 250,000 miles and still going strong. I honestly respect the amount of work they do and the attention to detail when doing repairs. Both Tyler and Mason are awesome guys and great workers. I always suggest friends and family to Pacific German when they need work done to their vehicles. Don't let the cars parked outside the shop fool you. They do it all there, from basic oil changes to even supercharged Audi R8's. I know in the near future I will be back to get work done on my MKIV GLI. Thanks again for all the great work guys!
