I would give Seven Stars If I could. I just purchased a used 2002 Jetta Tdi with 133k miles that needed some work. I was hoping to find a good vw specialty repair shop that I could take my car to. (Not too many Tdi or vw specialist around these days.) I'm so glad I found Pacific German. First of all the owner is a super cool guy who doesn't mind spending time with you on the phone or at the shop. When I called three or four other shops, all of them said the same typical thing, we won't know until you bring it in. Sean was different, he spent some time listening to me on the phone and told me what the probable causes maybe and asked me to bring it in to have a free inspection. PLUS ONE (listening skills, never too busy) Even thought he was 40 minutes from my house, I felt I could trust him and I decided to have the free inspection. When I arrived, he was friendly, he and I immediately went for a test drive to see what was wrong with my car. Within 20 seconds of driving he diagnosed the problem. PLUS TWO ( Didn't make me wait because it was a free inspection) After the diagnoses he gave me a written estimate not verbal. He gave me some discount which I thought was good. His warranty for all his repair was 2yr or 24,000 miles which was better then any other shop. When he gave me the free estimate I told him I would have think about it. At this point I wanted to see if he would get upset or change his attitude because he just spent some time with me on the phone and test drive without making a dollar. His attitude didn't change and said hopefully he can earn my business. PLUS THREE ( not a fake attitude, excellent warranty, and fair price.) I went home and I price shopped two other very reputable shops apples to apples since I had a written estimate. Both of the shops said they couldn't beat the price. Pacific German warranty was at least one year longer also. Plus Four ( his gave the best price ) After the price comparison I called him next day to set up appointment to get the job done. This is what really sealed the deal. Every other shop said i had to leave the car and come back for it. Well Sean said since I live 40 minutes away that I could wait in the shop while the car was being repaired. WOW that saves so much hassle. While waiting for the car to be fixed, I went to the repair area to see the work being performed and while upon the hoist I was checking some other possible things I might need to do. Most repair shops don't like customers around the repair area looking and asking questions. Sean didn't mind at all. PLUS FIVE( wait at the shop while the car is repaired) One other side note. Sean's two sons work with him which says a lot of about Sean's character. My six yr old son got to play with his two daughters which was pretty cool. Overall what a great experience, very clean shop, you can observe while he is working on the car, friendly, honest, excellent price, best warranty, and true VW Audi specialist. PLUS SIX ( Has it together) If your looking for a VW Audi specialist, consider Pacific German. From a very happy first time customer. ( by the way I had all the struts, lower control arm bushings, and both axles done with factory axles.) Now my Jetta rides like a dream

What can I say about Pacific German that has not been said already? I came to them with a repair issue regarding a stripped thread on my transmission. It was the Infamous "dogbone Mount" which people seemed to run into issues with re-installing the bolts and rounding them out due to over tightening and reuse of the stretch bolts. Because of this, the bolts would eventully fall out causing me to jack the car up and retapp the holes. Big mistake, as this would damage the block, maybe even crack it! So i gave Shawn and the guys at Pacific German a call and explained my situation and they we're happy to help me out by recommending a Time Sert which would take care of the issue of the rounded threads. I dropped off the car to have the job done over the weekend and got the car back monday. The repair job was done and done well. The service was prompt and Shawn was able to answer all questions I had as well as explain the procedure for the repair which gave me satisfaction and trust in leaving me car in their hands. By the way did I mention I have an 2004 R32? For a car that is very rare and precious I wanted to make sure it was taken care of. I would definatly reccommend them to my friends and family of the VW & Audi communities. I live almost an hour and fifteen minutes away and still would be willing to make the drive to them. Good service is hard to find but with Pacific German VW/AUDI you dont have to look very far. Vince

I know nothing about cars - though the missus does. I do understand what it takes to run a business, and the lengths it takes to balance making a profit and providing stellar customer service. It's backbreakingly difficult, and in fact, as I am sure many entrepreneurs know, profit is sometimes sacrificed in the name of good customer relationships (though it's certainly less frequent these days). Where am I going with this? Pacific German is a relatively new shop in Lake Forest that specifically takes care of Volkswagens (we have two) and Audis. We had an issue on our newly purchased used Jetta and did not know where to turn for what may be a minor, but most likely a major, repair. We did some web research, kept our fingers crossed, and made a phone call. I ended up speaking with the proprietor, Sean (hope I spelled that right), described the problem, and he called it, sight unseen. He knew it was a mid to major issue, gave me a fair estimate and asked that I bring it in before I did more damage to the car. The repairs were expensive, but not because Sean ripped me off. In fact, I would say he discounted the labor needed for all the work done to the car. He was honest, forthright, fair and prompt. He called back when he said he would and was always polite and understanding. I'm not sure what you may be looking for in an auto maintenance shop, but that's all I can ask for and it's what I expect. An added bonus is that Sean runs the business with a pair of his sons, who are respectful and professional. Great to see and support a family business. Bottom line, we highly recommend Pacific German and we will be back, though I will assume (and hope) that will just be for general upkeep and maintenance, as the car is running like new now.

I have an '05 Audi S4, and it is extremely expensive to have repairs done at the dealership. If you drive a German car you really need to have a reliable, honest, independent mechanic. This was my first time taking my car here and I was very impressed by Shawn and his staff. He is very knowledgable and friendly and I did not feel like he was taking advantage of me or suggesting any repairs that were not necessary. And his pricing was considerably lower than what the dealership would have charged. I will definitely bring my car back to Pacific German in the future.

My warranty and audicare just expired on my 2008 audi a4 (surpassed 50k miles) so I've been searching for a quality independent shop for servicing and misc fixes. I found this newly opened shop in Lake Forest by chance via Google search and decided to give it a try. I was in need of replacing my front and rear brake pads and rotors and gave them a call --Sean was awesome and provided me with quality servicing and did an excellent job! I was initially going to replace with OEM components, but instead upgraded to ceramic brake pads (definite increase in response compared to OEM) with new OEM rotors. In addition, he alerted me to a potential problem to my front suspension, which he also quoted me extremely well on, and addressed the problem areas in the very same visit. The work performed was of extreme quality and I left completely satisfied with my choice in repair shop. This shop specializes in VW/Audi and as a result, I feel comfortable taking my car to a shop where the mechanics routinely work on these types of cars and have the right equipment to do so. And on the plus side, the work performed here saved me at least a few hundred dollars over going to the dealership. If you're worried about needing a rental car, there is an enterprise office located in the adjacent shopping center. I would highly recommend that you give them a call before considering another independent repair shop in the area --yes, they are new to the area but they have 13+ years of experience repairing VW/Audi's in the riverside area. I know I'll be back for my next factory scheduled maintenance...

First to Review I just brought in my 1999 VW Jetta for service and the owner, Sean was awesome. Thanks to the sloppy work done from a previous auto-shop six months ago and a few oil changes from the same shop... my car was slowly breaking down and the engine light would always go on for different issues. I was told that since my car is old..I should get a new one so I have been slowly looking for one. Thanks to Sean though....he worked on my car and replaced the cheap wiring and spark plugs that were put in previously and found other things that the prior shop did not notice. Now my car is up and running like new with no problems and was told that my car could even last until 300K miles if I continue with my car maintenance. His two son's also work in the shop and its nice to know that this is a family run business. They even washed my car and when I stopped by to pick my car up, I didn't have to ask them to open up the hood and show me in detail on what what was done. Truly glad that I found a flier on my car for Pacific German since I am now taking my car here for future services. Prices are great compared to the dealership and they focus on VW and Audi's...yay! Keep up the great job guys and see ya in 4,000 miles for an oil change.
